Portland Eye Care first opened its doors in 1980. The office was established and successfully ran by Dr. Suzanne Maystead for almost 40 years before her retirement. Dr. Maystead and Dr. Andrews first met in 2003 and Dr. Andrews started working with her in 2015. She then purchased the practice in April 2018.
Dr. Krystal Andrews is originally from Mulliken, Michigan and she is a Grand Ledge High School graduate. She received her Bachelors of Vision Science from Ferris State University and her Doctorate from Michigan College of Optometry. She is an active member of the Michigan Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She is a trustee on the Michigan Optometric Association board and has worked on various committees within the MOA. She has participated in multiple Special Olympics Special Eyes vision screenings. She has traveled to Dominica five times for VOSH (Volunteers of Optometry Serving Humanity) eye care missions. Dr. Andrews focuses on all aspects of primary eye care, including complex contact lens fittings and InfantSEE exams. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Benji, and their two children, Harrison and Daphne.
Pam joined the PEC team in 2017. She was born and raised in Portland, and attended Northern University. She resides here in Portland with her husband, Brian, of 33 years. They have three children, Jake (Miranda), Jessika, and Julia and their dog, Phoebe and also a granddaughter Caroline. Pam loves working with people and enjoys the small hometown feeling that the office provides. In her spare time, Pam loves spending time with her family around the dinner table and at their cottage in Houghton Lake.
